Two years old already. The foal had turned into a filly. As she aged she showed how beautiful she really was.
Despite Sugarland's journey into the world she was generally a happy little horse. Only around newborn foals or mares in foal did she act up. Kitty kept her away from foals or pregnant mares as she knew from personal experience how painful it was for Sugarland to be around them. You wouldn't think a horse would remember such a thing when they are barely alive but she remembers.
Kitty had used none other than Angel to be a mother to Sugarland. At first she was hesitant to accept Angel but of course the mare had her ways and in just a short amount of time Sugarland was treating Angel as if she was born from her womb.
Today Kitty was to introduce her to a halter. She had tried with Sugarland when she was a lot younger and never stopped but the filly would always spook and seemed to be traumatized by the experience even days after. Before training Sugarland alone she took Angel and had the filly watch how calm Angie was when she placed the halter on and lunged her using the soft touch of a whip. Sugarland sort of cocked her head to the side as if to say, what the hell are you doing to her? Kitty then left Angel with the halter on and left the two alone. Angel knew that she was afraid and by nature she went to comfort her. Sugarland instead galloped away from her just at the sight of her halter.
Kitty shook her head and almost laughed for how the filly was acting. "Maybe we'll ditch nylon and try rope," she said to herself.

Oh my, that little filly is surely something else. We aren't too sure why she is terrified of nylon halters. She never had a bad experience with them and we cannot figure out how her tragic foaling would explain this phobia. I can't imagine trying to get a bridle on her. Maybe we won't ever be able to use a bit on her.
