Description

This tutorial was made using Gimp 2.0 and the Bamboo Fun tablet.

I'm going to add a few things below here since everything can't be fit in the Tutorial above.

Brush Size:
Painting Mane: Circle Hard Brush (17) Sizes 0.01-0.10

Blending:
Tool: Smudge Tool
Brush: Circle Fuzzy (you can choose any circle fuzzy brush) the size of the brush depends on where you are blending but don't make the brush size huge.
Smudge/Blend Rate: Keep it below 30.0 I find that high 20.0's is the best rate.

The Layers:
My layers go like this:
The last layer is my first layer (I created this layer first) and the top layer is the last layer I created.

o6. Lines-Mane
o5. Highlights-Mane
o4. Mane
o3. Base Color-Mane
o2. Lines-Horse
o1. Color-Horse

A Message from Me:
I finally made a tutorial on how I paint horse manes and tails. I use the same method for both. This is sort of my "secret" so if you use it in any of your work credit the tutorial with a link saying this:

With that said, if you need any help further explanation or anything else don't be shy and go ahead and ask me.
